Not So Fun Fact: I wasn’t thrilled with this outfit but I was being rushed out the door to go to dinner. There are days when you’re not going to be 100% satisfied with the way you look, but you just gotta go with it.

Fun Fact: I feel like I’m too old to shop at AE, but while I was buying my cousin’s Christmas present, I saw this cardigan for $6 and couldn’t resist.

What I Wore… Because Black is the New…Black?

When: Monday, January 31st
Where: Dinner at Pops Restaurant
What: Cowl neck sweater (Athleta), black jeans (Madewell 1937), black boots (Madewell 1937)
Fun Fact: I showered at the gym and let my hair dry naturally. Since it was already big and wavy, I just added a few curls with the curling iron and then I was feeling like a beauty queen.

Not So Fun Fact: The 2 bags behind me are filled with dirty laundry. I don’t have a washer and dryer, and I’m too cheap to pay for wash and fold service. Looks like I’ll be paying a visit to Mom and Dad’s house very soon…

I normally don’t mention where I purchased each piece of my outfit. But I’ve noticed that quite a few bloggers include brands and stores in their fashion posts. Most of my clothes aren’t from this season so I’m not sure if this information is worth including. Let me know what you think…

What I Wore… Because I Love Finding Any Excuse to be Glamorous!

Where: Watching the Golden Globes with friends

Fun Fact: None of our friends dressed up. They were in jeans and hoodies while Jared and I were in “Black Tie Optional” attire.

Fun Fact: Lots of people visit Boston and stop at the Johnny Cupcakes store on Newbury Street. They often leave angry when they learn it’s not a bakery, but a clothing shop. I LOVE Johnny Cupcakes. He makes the coolest t-shirts with such creative cupcake designs. I’m obsessed!

What: T-shirt (base layer), cowl neck sweater with a kangaroo pocket, skinny jeans, black flat boots
Fun Fact: Because the sweater had such a big collar, I didn’t need to wear a scarf when I went out in the cold. I just scrunched up my collar over the top of my coat and stayed warm and cozy.

When: Thursday, December 30th
Where: Out to dinner in Rochester with Jared’s parents and then to the musical comedy Christmas with the Calamari Sisters
What: Blue striped long sleeve t-shirt with large flowers on it, light pink tie sweater, skinny jeans, grey boots
Fun Fact: Good thing I liked my outfit tonight because thanks to Jared’s family, Jared and I were called up on stage during the show. So embarrassing! The Calamari Sisters sing and entertain on the set of their cooking show Mangia Italiana. Jared and I went on stage to sample the bruschetta appetizer that the sisters made. It was actually really tasty and I was glad we were allowed to take the leftovers back to our seats. I wish I had gotten a photo, but we weren’t allowed to use cameras in the theater.

Even though I love dressing up and thinking about what to wear, I’m VERY excited that tonight I’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve in my pajamas. My friend is hosting a party and the dress code is “Black Sweatpants Optional.”

Fun fact: “Apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur…”

*Brrrrr! How do you dress when it’s cold outside?*

I got these boots for Christmas and I’m in love. I don’t care if I look silly. They’re so warm and they’re tall enough that I can walk through the snow without worrying about getting wet. These “boots with the fur” may not be club appropriate, but I’m going to wear them everywhere while the weather is cold and snowy.

Where: Haircut, errands, and dinner with friends
What: White long sleeve t-shirt, red collared sweatshirt, skinny jeans, sand colored Uggs

Ugly Uggs! There were snow flurries so I wore my boots so I’d be warm rather than fashionable. There was no way I’d give up my Uggs only to wind up shivering. For fun, I wore my red sweatshirt, bright a Christmas color, for some pre-holiday cheer.

When: Thursday December 23rd
Where: Run club at the South End Athletic Company
What: Cold gear turtleneck, t-shirt, jacket, cold gear pants, running sneakers, reflective vest, winter hat, gloves

I always have to bundle up when I run at night. After 5 minutes of jogging, I’m usually pulling at the neck of my turtleneck because it’s so tight and I feel like I can’t breathe. I also take my gloves of several times while running because my wrists and hands get really sweaty.

When: Friday December 24th (Christmas Eve!)
Where: Traveling to my parents’ house and dinner with family
What: Loose white shirt, grey cardigan, black leggings, black boots

I usually enjoy dressing up for Christmas Eve. But this year I left a lot of packing until the last minute so I just went for comfort. Nothing is more comfortable than leggings, a tight fitting form of sweatpants, and a long cardigan, one step up from an extra large hoodie.

*Am I the only one who gets really excited to plan my outfits for parties and events during the holidays?*
