My Ugly Hat

On the way to Vermont, Jared and I made a pitstop in Longmeadow, MA so I could take a peak in the Pendleton Woolen Mills store. I picked up a furry bomber hat that was on super sale.

It’s not the prettiest or most flattering hat I’ve ever worn. That doesn’t matter; I still love it!

My “Chief Joseph” patterned hat might be ridiculous looking, but it was ridiculously warm and the faux fur is incredibly soft.

You can be sure I rocked my Pendleton hat all weekend without any shame. It doesn’t matter what you look like when it’s cold out!

What I Wore: Vermont Bound

What I Wore… Bound for Vermont

  • When: Friday, March 2nd
  • Where: Jamaica, Vermont (near Stratton Mountain)
  • What: Green nordic sweater (Eddie Bauer), denim leggings (American Eagle outlet), Joan of Arctic boots (Sorel)

What I Wore: Whoa, Eyebrows!

Whoa, eyebrows! I went to the Laura Mercier counter at Neiman Marcus for a makeup lesson. I love everything about my look EXCEPT my extra dark eyebrows. They’re a little too intense for me. I learned that I was doing a lot of things wrong when choosing my colors and while applying my makeup. I was also advised to step up my skincare routine to get ready for my wedding on 8.10.12.

What I Wore… The Outfit, Not the Eyebrows

  • When: Friday, February 24th
  • Where: Neiman Marcus and then a family dinner at my Memere’s house

What I Wore: Neon Trend

The color in these photos is a bit off…but I swear my sweater is a light shade of neon yellow. Funny because I actually purchased it a few years ago, before neon was super trendy.

JFK Library

Day #4, the final day of Jared’s Birthday Weekend, started with a run around the track. I was lazy and called it quits after two windy miles, but the Birthday Boy had extra energy and completed five miles. Jared is working really hard to get in tip top shape for our August wedding. He had to run those extra three miles to work off all of the birthday cake he ate throughout the weekend. :P

It was President’s Day and Jared decided it would be most appropriate to spend the afternoon at the JFK Library.

We watched a movie about JFK’s early years and toured exhibits filled with information about his presidential campaign and time in the White House.

Future President? Jared loves to talk about his political aspirations.

Maybe that means I’m a Future First Lady?!?! ;)

Upon exiting the library exhibits, we found ourselves in the most beautiful lobby with views of Boston and the ocean.

Floor to ceiling windows and a brilliant blue sky!

I was in awe of the grand space. I couldn’t stop snapping photos with my camera and my iphone.

“A man does what he must – in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures – and that is the basis of all human morality.” -John F. Kennedy Profiles in Courage

If you live in the Boston area, I’d highly recommend a visit to the JFK Library. For $12 admission, I learned a lot about America’s 35th president and his family, and the important events that took place during JFK’s short time in office.

What I Wore: President’s Day

What I Wore… Celebrating President’s Day

  • When: Monday, February 20th

Lazy Sunday

Jared’s Birthday Weekend, Day #3 was a lazy, lazy Sunday. The Birthday Boy decided that he wanted to sleep late, relax, and wear pajamas all day long. We only left the house once, to walk the dog, and staying true to his word, Jared wore his pajamas. It was his Birthday Weekend so I couldn’t argue. :P

My parents surprised Jared with a home cooked dinner.

Everyone enjoyed salad, wheat rolls, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and steak. My dad did a great job grilling the steak and seasoning the vegetables. A simple and delicious meal!

As a special surprise, my mom and dad gave Jared a birthday cake. Vanilla cake from Wegman’s, his favorite!

Hoping that his birthday wish comes true…

Yum, I didn’t mind eating a piece of cake two days before Jared’s actual birthday. And hopefully on the 21st, there will be more cake to celebrate Jared’s actual date of birth. :D

What I Wore: Repeat Offender

What I Wore… Repeat Offender: Same Jeans and Boots as the Day Before

  • When: Saturday, February 18th
  • Where: Scarborough Beach and Coastal Extreme Brewing
  • What: Pink gingham blouse (J. Crew outlet), sheer striped sweater (Madewell), denim leggings (American Eagle outlet), “Veronica” boots (Frye)

When there’s a semi-clean pair of jeans and a comfy pair of boots sitting on the bedroom floor, it makes it very easy to get dressed and get out of the house.
