Bruins Rolling Rally

The Bruins won the Stanley Cup last week.  In Boston, it was a big deal.

{A really big deal!}

The Rolling Rally through the streets of Boston was set to begin at 11 am.  My parents arrived at my apartment bright and early at 7:45 am and we were out the door and on our way to Copley Square by 8:30.

We stopped at Appleton Bakery to get breakfast and then we walked to Boylston Street.  The crowds were already gathering so our group of 5 searched to find an open space against the railing.  Then the countdown was on: only 2 1/2 until the parade was set to begin.  Who knew how long it would take to finally reach us?!?!

The fans entertained themselves by chanting “Let’s Go Bruins” and flying paper airplanes from one side of the street to the other.

The rolling rally didn’t leave the TD Garden until 11:30 am and took an hour to reach Boylston Street.  It felt like we waited forever.  But when the helicopters hovered over head, the music began blaring, and the duck boats rolled through, it was all worth it!

{Black and gold confetti flying everywhere!}

The Bruins Rolling Rally was a fantastic celebration for Boston’s hockey heroes.  It was a warm, sunny day and the crowds were in high spirits.  I was thrilled when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup and had an awesome time celebrating the team’s victory with the rest of New England.
