I tried a new flavor of Puffins this morning. Jared bought a box of their Honey flavored cereal. It was okkkk. Not the same as my beloved peanut butter. But it was pretty good with a spoonful of Barney Butter.

After my mini-Clif bar mid-morning snack, I was ready for a filling lunch. I ordered a Chicken and Avacado wrap from the Healthworks Cafe. Yum, yum. I’m very grateful that I work somewhere with such delicious and healthy meal options.
I had an Ice Chai with skim milk to get my through the afternoon. I decided to take the day off from exercise. After working 2 back to back 9 hours days, with a cheerleading practice in between, I think it was justified.

I snacked on some Dark Chocolate Pomegranate and a glass of water with lemon when I got home from work.

While taking the dog for a walk, I caught a glimpse of the Back Bay Healthworks’ Beach Body Bootcamp. They looked like they were having fun and working hard. Maybe I should sign up?!?!

It was a very nice evening in Boston. Great dog walking weather for sure!

Miles and I did a few laps around Copley Square while waiting for Jared to get off the T.

While Boston always has pretty views when looking straight ahead, sometimes there are also nice views when you stop and take a minute to look up. I loved the buildings, with the Hancock building peeking out around the corner, and a nice blue sky.
The Celtics are in a heated match-up with the Lakers so I’m feeling very proud of my city. Boston, you’re my home!

I made Spinach and Chive linguine for dinner.

My beautiful tablescape! Dinner in front of the TV, with a glass of Languedcoc red wine and my cheerleading bows in the background.

I tossed my linguine in olive oil and added Parmesan cheese and halved grape tomatoes.
You know how your mom is always telling you to stand up straight?
Well, being back at cheerleading last night made me start thinking about how important good posture is. When I’m wearing a sports bra and spandex shorts to work out, I’d better be making sure I’m doing myself justice and standing tall and proud. (Plus when I have bad posture, I look like I’m a few months pregnant. Yikes!) I’m always guilty of rounding my shoulders and standing with my hips/lower abdomen pushed forward. Eekk!
Here are some tips for perfecting your posture!
- Don’t let poor posture become a habit!
- Get up and move around; don’t stay in the same position for more than 30 minutes
- Try to keep your body aligned while sitting and standing
- Use posture friendly props (Ex: lumbar back supports, pillows, foot rests)
- Sit in ergonomic chairs while doing computer work for long periods of time
- Carry handbags/backpacks that are designed to prevent back pain
- Try to be aware of your posture while sitting, standing, walking, etc.
- Use exercise to promote good posture (Ex: core and back strength)
- Wear supportive footwear
- Avoid high heels that throw off your center of gravity
- Maintain a relaxed posture and try to avoid stiffness
Whew, a lot to think about… I have my work cut out for me. I’ll add “posture” to the bottom of my To Do list.

The only time I wish I actually lived in the city is when I see your lovely pictures of your evening walks with Miles. So pretty!

My favorite Puffins are the multigrain ones! Have you tried those?? I like the PB ones but I don’t like how big they are!

I’ve never seen that Puffins flavor! I’ll have to give it a shot, although I believe you when you say it doesn’t compare to good old PB.
Thanks for the posture tips! It’s something I really need to work on.
