I didn’t feel so hot when I woke up this morning. I think it was just related to allergies because after a shower, I made a speedy recovery. I had a bowl of Peanut Butter puffins for breakfast.
I had a very short job training session this morning. When I left Healthworks, it was HOT outside. Boston was supposed to hit 90 degrees by late afternoon.

I wanted something light and simple for lunch.

I made a vanilla yogurt mix with granola, a banana, and a spoonful of Barney Butter.

I slathered myself in sunscreen and headed to Newbury Street. Every time I walk in and out of the front door of my building, I see these flowers and they put a smile on my face!

There was a Farmer’s Market in Copley Square. The Farmer’s Market will be taking place on Tuesdays and Fridays until the end of the summer. I didn’t buy anything today but I did a lot of browsing for next time.

I’ve been craving strawberries for the past 2 days. These looked so good!

And check out these cookies! Perfect for anyone who celebrates Cookie Friday!
I wandered up and down Newbury Street and before I knew it, it was Tea Time.

I met Megan (aka Chocolate Pickle) for drinks at Tealuxe. It was so great to finally meet Megan in person!
I always joke that we have so many things in common and were meant to be friends…and it was reconfirmed today when Megan showed up wearing the same pair of shoes I had JUST purchased at one of my favorite stores on Newbury Street.
Plus we ordered the same drink: Iced Chai Latte!

Since yogurt wasn’t an overly filling lunch, I had a bowl of fresh fruit.
Megan and I talked nonstop for over an hour. We made plans to reconnect later this summer, either in Boston again or in Chicago when I’m in town for the Healthy Living Summit.

I wandered back home to the South End. I can’t resist snapping photos whenever I’m out walking around. I always come across such pretty sights.
By 5 pm, I started debating Wine on the Deck vs. the Healthworks Running Club.

I chose running!
I had tortilla chips and salsa to quiet my growling stomach before I headed out for the 6 pm run.
Considering the heat, there were quite a few women who were ready to run. Our large group split after 1 mile, depending on pace preference. I ran 5 miles, red faced and sweating like a beast. And it felt great!
If I’m going to be training for my marathon throughout the summer, I need to get used to running in warm weather.

When I got home, I created a drink blend to rehydrate and replace all of those electrolytes that I sweated out.
Okkk, first I took an ice cold shower. Then after I had cooled off and cleaned up, I mixed coconut water with POM juice. It was delicious and so refreshing. Plus it was a nice change of pace since I chug plain water all day, every day.

I have been trying to think of a good mixer for my bottles of POM – thanks for the idea!!
I am also trying to adjust to running in the heat. Good Lord is it tough. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I kind of miss 40 degrees or colder!!
