SoWa Open Market

SoWa

May 15th and 16th was the opening weekend of the SoWa Open Market.

Every  Sunday through mid-October, local merchants gather in the South End to sell their items.

That means lots of jewelry, funky t-shirts, paintings, soap, natural foods, antiques, etc. etc.

SoWa

I had a great time browsing.  Instead of purchasing lots of items, I grabbed business cards.  I can visit companies online and figure out what items to add to my wish list.

SoWa Open Market

It was gorgeous weather for shopping!

Cupcake Soap

Cupcake soap from Stella Marie!

Fuzzy Ink merchandise

My new favorite brand: Fuzzy Ink.  All of their designs feature handle bar mustaches.  Even a giant plush mustache pillow!  Too funny!

My Bad Dog

Don’t let his Corgi smile fool you.

Miles did NOT enjoy shopping.  He pulled on his leash, barked at other dogs, and was an overall pain in the ass.  He’s not going to join us next time we venture to the SoWa Open Market.

SoWa sculpture

In the SoWa area, there are lots of art galleries and shops.  Everything is open on the weekends so people can stroll in and out, enjoying the artwork.

My 2 Boys

It was great to spend time with my 2 boys.

Caprese Sandwich

After a Caprese sandwich from the South End Buttery, it was time to get to down to work.

Jared and I made a pilgrimage to Home Depot to get more items for the backyard.

Stone Path

We covered half of our rock pathway.

Building my Flower Garden

My flower garden is in Phase I.  I need to get a lot more flowers to fill the empty space!

My Sunday was not a day of rest!

Shopping and yard work = good exercise

After spending several hours in the yard, I studied my sales techniques for upcoming job training.  I had been planning to go to cheerleading practice on Sunday night, but by late afternoon, I knew I was going to have to stay home and get stuff done.  There are some times in life when you have to be responsible and act like an adult.  No cheering and leading for me.

At least I got my work done and I’m not going to let anything get in the way of cheerleading practice next weekend!

I want that mustache pillow! For no other reason besides that it is blissfully bizarre!

Must keep my husband away from any mustache-related items.

Have you brought Miles to a training class? It seems like you say he misbahaves a lot.

Sorry you had to miss cheering :( Your new job sounds fun though so I’m sure it’s worth it!

Love the SoWa thing. Maybe that would be a good Sunday venture sometime soon. Your garden is taking shape. I will sugg. that you get some bigger green plants to use as fillers so you won’t be getting so many flowers. Hostas are great….or maybe decorative grasses.

I love browsing companies online and choosing whether to add them to my favourites or not. It’s better than commiting yourself face to face. The market looks lovely.
