Land and Sea

On Saturday we walked back and forth across Boston.

Boston

From the South End through China Town.  To the Seaport.  To the North End.  Back to the Seaport.  Home to the South End.

Ok, we took a cab for the last 2 legs of the journey.  It was exhausting.  I felt like I was on an episode of the Amazing Race, running around the city on crazy adventures.

Toilet Monster

Before I left on my adventure, I had another encounter with the Toilet Monster.  I left the suds on the floor and went out to enjoy the beautiful day.

China Town, Boston

The plan was to walk to the North End via China Town.

China Town, Boston

A little bit of Asia in New England.

Crosswalk Skeleton

But plans changed when we realized we needed to get to Harpoon Brewery early to buy tour tickets before they were sold out for the day.

Altering our walking route proved to be a good idea.  Jared spotted a new Crosswalk Graffiti Skeleton in the Seaport area.

Harpoon Brewery

We grabbed tickets for the 4 pm tour and left the brewery.  Beer tasting was on the schedule for late afternoon.

Making it to the North End for pizza became the new priority.

Seaport, Boston

It was a LONG, but scenic walk.

North End, Boston

Finally we arrived in Boston’s version of Little Italy:  the North End.

North End, Boston

So many great Italian smells were wafting out of every door.  Mmmm!

Pizzeria Regina in Boston's North End

We went to the original Pizzeria Regina for pizza.

Pizzeria Regina pizza with tomatoes and broccoli

After so much walking, I was ready for a filing meal.  I ate the broccoli 1/2 of this 10″ pizza and Jared snagged the other side.  I also had a refreshing glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

I really wish I wore my Garmin so I could’ve kept track of the number of miles we covered.  Getting outside and walking can be such a good workout.  And way for me to find new sights to photograph!

I’m all about fun and easy ways to stay fit and healthy.  Just because I didn’t hit the gym or work up a sweat, doesn’t mean that I missed out on exercise.  Socializing and living life works well on the weekends!
