I don’t have any pictures of my breakfast or lunch yesterday. Oops! But I only ate a blueberry muffin and a steak & cheese. Nothing crazy!
My mom came to visit me yesterday so I spent the afternoon with her. We enjoyed walking around Boston, even with the gale force winds blowing sand in our eyes.

I had a headache for most of yesterday evening. I just wasn’t in the mood for food. I had a bowl of cereal for dinner.

Boston’s real “Green Monster.”
(For you non-Bostonians, the Green Monster is the nickname for the left field wall at Fenway Park.)
A little bit of pampering, I gave myself a facial with Love Lettuce from Lush. Love Lettuce is “an effective exfoliating face mask which gives normal to oily skin a softened, smoothed and radiant glow.”

Each batch only last 3 weeks so I have to hurry up and use the 2 oz container I bought earlier this week. I have to store it in the fridge so with each use, it’s nice and cool on my skin. I took a peek at the Ingredients on the back of the jar. True to Lush‘s standards, it’s all-natural. It includes honey, almond oil, ground almond shells, and lavender oil.

Since my cereal dinner didn’t keep me full for very long, I snacked on a bag of pretzels.

I also ate an orange popsicle. Almost matches my orange fingernails.
Something weighing on my mind:
For someone who’s dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle, exercise has been absent from my life for the past week. I had a tough training run last week in preparation for this weekend’s Half Marathon. I also have plans to run a full Marathon in October. So I just felt like taking some time to rest my body and its minor aches and pains.
I miss the gym! I REALLY miss the sauna!
I’m hoping to go for a short run tonight, just to get my legs moving again. But it will be great to line up at the starting line on Sunday morning with a VERY well rested body.
After this weekend’s race, I have a month and a half of down time before my 18 week marathon training program begins. So starting on Monday, look for more physical activity. (Especially since I found a new South End yoga studio offering $5 classes for the 1st week of May!)

Sometimes taking time off is the best thing we can do.
Aaaaand, I’ve never had a facial! Well, not really. I exfoliate regularly but never with masks like that :p

Mmmm. I love those lush masks. There is a lush on my walk home from the EL in Chicago so I’m amazed I haven’t ducked in for any goodies. I always enjoyed the one with banana. In general, I’m a sucker for having things done with my face. I’ve had a handful of professional facials in my lifetime and absolutely love them. So relaxing.

we’re on the same 2010 training schedule! Halfs in May and fulls in October!
Let me know what your training plan is for October – eventually!
I might need that mask…just what I need to get rid of dull winter-esque skin.

I think it’s good that you took some time off! It is never a bad thing to rest when your body is telling you to. BEtter to be undertrained than overtrained! That’s my motto!
Good luck this weekend!

I have never had a facial!
I love the feel of a well rested body for a run – I ran this morning after 3 days off and shaved a minute off my time!
Good luck on Sunday – can’t wait to see the race recap!

Being well rested is HUGE! I didn’t run for almost 3 weeks before Boston, and I felt amazing. You will be great!

Ooh, face masque! I saw a tomato-based wash and masque at Target yesterday that I’d like to try. They’re from the people who make the Yes to Carrots line.
