A Blog Dedicated to Living a Healthy Lifestyle

MicMacs

Yesterday was a pretty busy day and a change from the Desperate Housewife lifestyle I’ve been living for the past 2 weeks. ;)

Breakfast

Quick yogurt blend for breakfast before I rushed out the door for an appointment.  Vanilla yogurt, vanilla granola, and Skippy peanut butter.  I normally eat flavored PB or AB so I wasn’t thrilled with the Skippy.  It seemed “fake” and not as flavorful.  I’ll leave the rest of the jar for Jared and just stick with the good stuff from now on.

Lunch

Leftover Pad Thai when I finally got home from my morning out and about.

(I even had to stop at H&M to buy an umbrella to walk home.  Crappy Boston weather!)

My Outfit

Dressed up and ready to go to the movies.  Dark skinny jeans are my favorite bottoms to wear, whether casual or dressed up.

Dinner

Our group grabbed pizza from the Upper Crust and brought it into the theater.  Wow, most places won’t let you walk in with a large pizza box.  At the Coolidge Corner theater, they were totally cool with it.

We received TONS of free food before the movie started.  It was like my dream come true.

I wish I had gotten a pic of the scene:  People were running up and down the aisles throwing out bags of chips, pretzels, granola bars, Lara bars, etc.  I kid you not!  It was so strange, but so much fun!

Maybe the crowd was so energetic because….

Coolidge Corner theater

It was closing night of the Boston Independent Film Festival!

We were supposed to see Saturday Night, an SNL documentary by James Franco.  At the last minute, the movie was pulled.  Instead we saw the French film Micmacs.

Micmacs was a nice surprise, considering I didn’t know anything about the plot when we arrived at the theater.  After switching seats with Jared so I could actually read the subtitles, I really enjoyed the film.  Jean-Pierre Jeunet directed Micmacs.  He also directed Amelie so if you’ve seen that, now you have a clue about the style of this latest film.

After listening to French being spoken throughout the film, I think it would be fun to learn French.  I studied Spanish in high school.  French seems more glamorous!  And if I can’t learn the language, I’ll settle for reading Entre Nous: A Woman’s Guide to Finding Her Inner French Girl. ;)

The Corrib

A glass of wine was necessary before heading home for the night so we stopped by the Corrib Pub.

Th Corrib

We also chowed down on nachos and potato skins.  Mmm!  Bar food!  :)

Ok, now I have a confession for you guys.

My kitchen has gotten really messy.  I do NOT like to do dishes.  I’ll do anything to avoid the chore.

Sad, but true.

Everything PLUS the kitchen sink

I’ve been piling plates and bowls in and around the sink.

Thank you Jared for taking care of the mess.  I promise to be better about loading/emptying the dishwasher from now on.

*What is your least favorite household chore?*

    Looks like a fun night!

I don’t mind rinsing the dishes and putting them in the dishwasher, or even hand washing dishes… but I really hate emptying the dishwasher!! I don’t know what it is about it – but I can’t stand it.

lol your sink is a mess! I hate cleaning the bathroom and kitchen so my bf does it each week. I love him a lot for doing that.
I learnt French at school and did it for A level. I can remember quite a lot of it actually but might do a quick refresher course as it’s such a beautiful language.
