Cheerleading Practice

Clif Mojo Bar

I snacked on a Clif Mojo Bar.  Mmm, I love these dipped bars in every flavor.

My Outfit

It was a sunny day so I dressed for springtime.  Still trying to keep Audrey Hepburn in mind when choosing my outfits. :)

I ran for 20 minutes, changing my speed around while staying in the 7-7.6 mph range.  I struggled a little bit and had to force myself to keep going.  I took my time stretching and foam rolling.  I’m in a little bit of pain, but I’m going to keep doing what I need to do to take care of myself.

Cheerleading

I made a last minute decision to skip spin class and go visit my former cheerleading coach Jason at his gym Full House.  My former teammate Matt was also there.  It was great to talk to Jason about cheering for his Open Team next year.  I’m really excited to get back into cheering.

I tumbled for the first time in 1 1/2 years.  I was able to run and do a roundoff back handspring back tuck on my very first pass.  But after bouncing on the Tumble Track and doing standing back tucks, I fell when I tried to do my standing tuck on the cheer floor.  Good thing I have time to practice before tryouts on May 1st.

Matt and I stunted together.  The stunt in the picture is called an Awesome.  I was working really hard to balance because Matt only had a grip on one of my feet.  Stunting is hard work!  I accidentally broke Matt’s pinkie finger on our last stunt.  I fell and when Matt caught me, he bent his pinkie in the wrong direction.  Oops, sorry Matt!  I hope he feels better soon.

I can’t wait to go back to Full House to stunt and tumble more!

Dinner

Jared had dinner waiting for me when I got home.  Wow, crazy portion sizes.

Dinner

There will definitely be chicken and asparagus on my plate tomorrow, but I was hungry from running and then cheering so I inhaled my pasta.

I like that the stunt is called an Awesome – it is definitely awesome – very impressive. It’s sweet that Jared made dinner for you – I could totally have eaten that portion…

I think its great that you are going to cheer again! That is always something I wanted to do when I was younger – but I was crazy unhealthy and lazy and not motivated… so I never did it. You are a rockstar!

I love your skirt! So cute. :)

Also, so cool about the cheerleading. What try outs are you taking part in? Where will you be cheering? So exciting.

That looks like so much fun! I danced for my whole life until middle of college, and I miss it so much. As much as I love running and other activities that I do now, there’s just something about competing with a team that I miss.

I am impressed. I have a feeling I would have landed on my a** if I atempted any tumbling. It has been probably 10 years for me since I have done any cheer or gymnastics. That is cool that you have the chance to cheer again. I do miss it sometimes.

I was a cheerleader and competitive gymnast from 4th grade up until my senior year of high school. I loved it, but cant do it any more because of some injuries and eating disorder. I cant wait to live vicariously through you and your continued cheerleading career!!
