A Blog Dedicated to Living a Healthy Lifestyle

Amazing!

I’m amazed at the support everyone is willing to give me as I’m defying gravity.

I’m amazed at how many of your shared your condolences for Kitty.

And I’m amazed by how many of you are thriving!  I loved reading each and every entry for my giveaway.  You guys are so inspiring.  Doing great things with your lives. :)

Despite my amazement, I had a lackluster day.

Breakfast

I ate a blueberry muffin for breakfast.

Lunch

I made a salad with a turkey burger, spinach, carrots, and corn for lunch.  Plus an ice coffee!

The coffee gave me an afternoon pick-me-up.  I cleaned, ironed, and got some work done.

Nail salon

Around 3, I got out of the house and went to get my nails done.  While I don’t like wasting money, my cuticles are so dry and can be a painful problem.  I’ve tried to deal with it on my own, but it’s much easier to pay $15 to get them cut.  Pain free for a week, til they grow back.

Snack

Kiwi for an afternoon snack, and freshly polished nails.  Ooo la la.

Plus some unphotographed handfuls of trail mix.

I was really looking forward to running with the HealthWorks running club.  At 5:30, I started to get ready.  But when I glanced out the window, it was dark and drizzly.  With the big race this weekend, I didn’t want to risk catching a cold from exercising in crappy weather.  I was probably being overly cautious, but I used the time to stretch, foam roll, ice, and do a killer ab workout.

I’m planning to hit the gym tomorrow and then I’m going to run on Thursday night with the SEAC group.  Plenty of time to prep my legs for this weekend’s half marathon.

Dinner

I had high hopes for cooking this week.  I’ve already let myself down.  Ohhh well. :(

Crappy weather makes me crave easy food.  Jared ran across the street and grabbed food from the House of Siam.  I had my usual order of Chicken Pad Thai.

I spent my evening puttering around the apartment, watching the Biggest Loser, and enjoying another #fitblog chat on Twitter.  I love all of my healthy living blogger friends!

Chicken pad thai is my favorite – I love it with shrimp, too. I love it so much that I have a hard time ordering anything else in a Thai restaurant.

Oh pad thai, how happy you make me! Love the nail polish, btw. Such a great, summery color!

    Love the polish color!

I haven’t had a chance to watch Loser yet this week (sitting on the tivo waiting for me!) But my husband and I went to the 5K casting call in Dallas! We didn’t know you had to call ahead and “win” a spot on one of the teams, so we didn’t end up getting to race… but I have been waiting for this episode to air for a long time!!!

Wasn’t the Biggest Loser great? So inspiring and definitely left me crying. Have a great day!

Love your nails!! And pad thai is one of my favorite things ever. Way better than cooking if you ask me!

Mmm chicken pad thai – definitely a fave. And a go to when I don’t feel like cooking (which is often, sadly). Manicures are always a well-deserved pick me up. Much cheaper than shopping for clothes/shoes. ;)

I hope you are ok Melissa. I think it was a good thing not to hurt yourself before your big race. At least you did an ab workout, I would so have bummed in front of the tv!!!
