Recapping FitBloggin from start to finish…
POM Wonderful POMtini Reception with tasty POM cocktails. This event was crowded with bloggers and it was great to meet so many familiar faces in person. Plus the drinks were pretty tasty, and you can’t beat getting antioxidants while sipping a cocktail!
Joined a large group of bloggers for dinner at Taco Fiesta. My chicken quesadilla was great. I chowed down on the entire thing!
We headed back to the hotel right after dinner cuz the 6:30 am Fun Run was going to be rough.
At 6:30 am, lots of bloggers were up but not exactly at ‘em. I half asleep and enjoyed running a slow an steady 5K around the waterfront area.
Watching the sun rise as we ran! So pretty!
Quaker sponsored breakfast so I had a hearty bowl of oatmeal with LOTS of toppings. Mmmm. Plus a banana on the side cuz fresh fruit never hurt anyone.
Bloggers excited for the full day of FitBloggin events.
My 1st breakout session, I attended Blogs, Accessibility, and SEO Optimization with Scott Stawartz. It was a great presentation and I took a lot of helpful notes.
My 2nd breakout session was Getting Noticed: How to Pitch to Traditional Media. While I didn’t get many of my current question answered, I learned a lot of valuable info for the future. I was hoping they’d discuss freelance writing, but the session focused more on pitching stories to TV stations.
Lunch time! Sandwiches, salad, and some fresh vegetables. I forgot to photograph my dessert…I had Jello, courtesy of our sponsor, and some fresh fruit.
Me (Melissa only, do NOT call me Missy) and Missy!
I chose to attend Beyond the Blog: Getting Published. It great to listen to Caitlin speak about her writing/publishing process for her Operation Beautiful book. Can’t wait until the book goes on sale!
The Pure2Raw twins provided our afternoon snacks through their bakery Twin Cakes. I don’t eat raw food very often (I’ve had it once!) so it was fun to try new things and figure out my likes and dislikes.
Final breakout session discussing how to earn money through blogging.
Dave Grotto gave a humorous Key Note speech to close out FitBloggin.
Some bloggers took a walk to Whole Food to grab dinner and then we ate by the water.
Salad with TONS of veggies. Exactly what I was craving!
A huge group of bloggers met up for drinks and chitchat. Fun times and lots of laughs! I called it a night early and headed back to the hotel…all weekend I loved seeing this display in the lobby! I kept telling Julie I was getting future wedding ideas.
And here’s where I’m at now: Breakfast in bed! I enjoyed a scone that I bought during our WF adventure yesterday. I might hit the gym before checking out and heading to the airport. Or I might continue to relax. Who knows?!?!
FitBloggin was such a fun experience! I’m so glad I went! Thank you to Roni for planning and organizing, the many sponsors with all of the swag (especially love my New Balance sneakers, Thriv t-shirt, and Gruve)…and to all of the awesome bloggers I got to meet live and in-person. Such a great weekend!!!!
