Enjoy life! Eat dessert first!

For the 2nd night this week, I ate a frozen treat before dinner. But this time I ran about 2.5 miles before snacking.
Jared, Mark and I met at the Boston Public Library. We ran over to Comm Ave, down Comm, and crossed onto Beacon Street to run to Coolidge Corner. I met Kelly and Lauren at Berry Freeze. This was my first time enjoying self serve frozen yogurt. I filled a small container with the plain tart flavor and then topped it with strawberries, raspberries, kiwis, and shredded coconut. Since you pay based on weight, I put my container on the scale by the register to figure out the final bill.
I loved it! Inexpensive, I was in control of my portion size, and most importantly I was in control of any and all toppings.

It was a quick meetup cuz it was a work night and I needed to run home. But I think the 3 of us could’ve chatted for much longer. Bloggers always have so much in common. We talked about running, biking, and triathlons. Yup, lots of outdoor activities!
The run home was uneventful. And no cramps from the mid-run snack.
We covered 5.1 miles in just under 50 minutes. City running is tough because of waiting at street lights. It makes my overall running times and paces look slower because there’s often a lot of stopping and going. I’m trying to analyze my numbers; I like to see compare my average speed vs. my maximum speed . I’m planning to run around the reservoir in Chestnut Hill on Saturday morning. Since I’ll just be running on a flat path, it will be easy to see where I’m at in my training. I need to keep in mind that my average pace should be 9:15 or under.

I made dinner when we got home. I boiled some wheat rotini and sauteed tofu and spinach in red sauce.

I couldn’t resist throwing cute a dog picture in this post. I’m glad you guys think Miles is a cutie too. But he’s much different in person, more like a cranky old man. It’s so funny! Tonight Miles was mad that he wasn’t allowed outside while Jared was taking the trash out.

Dinner is served! I topped my pasta bowl with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.

So sad I couldn’t make it out for frozen yogurt tonight!
That dessert looks amazing – I think that the best part of dinner is dessert.

As far as I can see, that isn’t dessert, but instead a healthy means of consuming some of your 5 servings of fruits for each day.

What fun! I love that you incorporated the meet up into a run! Self-serve fro yo needs to take off in this area. It seems like its all the rage in other parts of the country, but here, there is that one place.

Self-serve froyo is the best! I love determining my own portion size and loading it up with fruit as toppings. What a fun meetup!!
