Yay, it seems like lots of you are hooked on Laughing Cow cheese. I had yet another wedge today. I ate half of these Triscuits and saved the rest for tomorrow. Gives me a reason to have more cheese.
It was good to get something in my stomach before Body Pump!
It was a really small Body Pump class today. Maybe 5 of us? But always a great workout! I really like version 72, but I’m still looking forward to 73 in a couple of weeks. I forgot my paper with my weights and when I got back to my office and checked, I was a little light on 2 groups. At least I was heavier on my warmup. Nice trade off!

I ordered a Vegetarian Wrap from the HealthWorks Cafe. I love the creaminess of the goat cheese in combination with fresh vegetables.

Sweet treats!

I snacked on M&Ms throughout the afternoon. All those Ms for “Melissa,” aww! They hit the spot, but the taste was ehh. Definitely not quality chocolate. I’d much rather eat a square of the good stuff.
We went out to dinner with a group of Jared’s coworkers so I wasn’t comfortable taking pictures.
And what better way to challenge myself during my 5 days of vegetarian eating than a trip to Longhorn Steakhouse?!? Wow, realllly limited options. I had a salad with zucchini and asparagus from the Appetizer section with a sweet potato from the available Side Dishes.
I thought Jared would crack under the pressure, but he stayed strong. He ordered French Onion Soup, rice pilaf, and mixed vegetables.
Several of you have asked if I think I’m getting proper nutrition during this 5 day challenge. I wish I had a good answer. But I honestly have no idea. I try to eat everything in moderation. A little of this, a little of that. As long as my body feels ok, I assume I’m doing ok. (In years past, everything always looks ok when I go for my annual physical) I enjoy eating.
I think eating is supposed to be fun and social. A true celebration! So while nutrition is important, I don’t like to get too hung up on it. Plus right now I have a limited knowledge of the human body and nutrition. Hopefully that will change in the semi-near future, but I’ll save that announcement for another day!
We went to see Shutter Island. My opinion: read the book! The movie was a dumbed down version of the book and made the ending seem predictable. I still enjoyed it and I had fun comparing the book with the movie. But I don’t know if I’d recommend Shutter Island to others.

I didn’t even realize Shutter Island was a book—thanks for the tip!

I get asked that question too, and I’ve been trying to eat veg for about a month now. Vegetarians frequently get asked if they’re getting enough protein. I think most vegetarians get more protein than meat-eaters because we’re so consciously aware of it. I eat so much more protein now than I ever did when I ate meat.
I watched Shutter Island without knowing it was a book. Now I’ll have to read it!
Great job at Longhorn! A sweet potato sounds like a good, delicious choice! Yummo!

Thanks for the movie review. I think I will probably watch it anyway since there is not much else to do around here. We watch a lot of movies. I guess I could read too, but then we aren’t really doing the same thing at the same time. I read other books at other times. Oh well, who knows. Good job staying strong at the steakhouse!
I love Laughing Cow. Only discovered it a couple of months ago. Great discovery!

Laughing Cow is very addicting. I like to dip carrot sticks into a wedge for snacking.
I didn’t know Shutter Island was a book either, that will go on my to-read list!

I really need to read Shutter Island, since I loved the movie and people say the book is even better! Love the M&Ms- my best friend from childhood used to say the M’s were for Molly and I was always jealous!

I think it’s okay if you are not getting proper nutrition for a week
Plus I think the world has limited knowledge of nutrition since “trends” change by the year. My grandfather is almost ninety and he’s been eating meat and potatoes for dinner his whole life…doesn’t really match with current nutritional practices

Oh I always think books are better so I will have to read Shutter Island first!

I’ve heard mixed reviews for Shutter Island… I’m going to see it tonight and have a feeling I’ll be disappointed. Oh well, as long as it keeps me somewhat entertained (and kills my curiousity).

I used to eat laughing cow cheese all the time. I have no idea why I stopped eating it because I loved the garlic flavored one!
I think I will be putting LC cheese on my shopping list for this weekend:)

I didn’t read Shutter Island before seeing it but my sister told me the ending in the book was not definitive, as it was in the movie. Without reading the book, I had guessed the plot twist really early in the movie so it kind of ruined it for me anyway! I thought the movie was good, but not great!
I think I might have to pick up more sweet potatoes too now….just thinking about them is making me hungry:)
