I snacked on a salad chock full of veggies throughout the afternoon.

I wrote a card to my grandmother and fell in love with the stick figure corgi that I drew for her.

Not a good picture of my outfit, but at least you can see my shoes. I’ve been saving these shoes all winter. The neutral color seems more appropriate for spring/summer. I guess I was just wishing for warm weather today. Plus nude shoes tend to help the leg line appear longer.
I needed to alter my Half Marathon training plan today. I was feeling kinda tired from yesterday’s run and didn’t want to overdo it. I used the stairmaster for 20 minutes and then continued my “cross training” by using the free weights, then stretching and the sauna.

I knew dinner would be late so I snacked on a Greens+ Chocolate Energy bar.

I really liked this bar. The taste and texture were much more appealing than the Amazing Grass bars. I liked the chocolate coating.

Jared and I met at the Otherside Cafe for dinner.

I ordered the Hummus Wrap which is pretty self-explanatory.

Jared ordered the Buffalo Tempeh Wrap. I tried a bite and it was too spicy for me. But I think I’d enjoy tempeh in another recipe.
We had some interesting conversation about Day #1. Jared said he struggled to find something to eat for lunch. He didn’t realize how few vegetarian options are at a typical food court. He wanted to order soup, but no veg options caught his attention. He settled on mac and cheese and a side salad. Though he did admit that it didn’t taste healthy when he was eating it.
We bought groceries at Trader Joe’s and the walk home with those heavy bags was a killer shoulder workout.

I love Otherside Cafe. They have a ton of options and I’ve tricked a few meat eaters into eating there. They’re always surprised to find out it was veggie.
I have a sexy pair of patent nude heels that I always get compliments on. I wear them because they make me look super tall. Nude shoes are where it’s at for the shorties.

I’ve never been to the Otherside Cafe. Sounds good! I’ll have to find it.
Very cute Corgi drawing!

How did Jared like tempeh? Was it his first time having it?
Being a veg is kind of hard when you don’t have a lot of options. It sucks, especially in the burbs. There isn’t much out here.

Oh that hummus wrap looks delicious!!!
I definitely know how Jared feels, that’s one reason I wouldn’t become a vegetarian. I already can’t eat things, and I am relatively picky, so if I limit myself any more I feel like sometimes I’d end up eating less healthy!

I’m with Jared on the lack of options. It’s hard to find veg-friendly take-out, especially when you leave the city. I did find out about a cool restaurant near me that serves all vegetarian/vegan dishes. It’s called Garden Grille Cafe. Maybe we can check it out sometime!

lunch is always the hardest time for me too! I’ve found bean soups to be good or I really like the spicy chicken patties from boca!

It is amazing how much meat products sneak into thing. I was at Whole Foods last night and debated a tomato and basil soup – then I read the ingredients and saw beef stock.
A seemingly vegetarian soup that really wasn’t!
