A Blog Dedicated to Living a Healthy Lifestyle

Honey, I’m Home

It feels awesome to be back in my cozy apartment with my fat little dog!  And it’s weird to be back from a vacation and feel SO well rested.  I normally come home from trips feeling exhausted, like I need to take a vacation and relax. ;)

A photo from Valentine’s Day, aww.  It was a nice touch that every woman received a carnation on the way into dinner.

Our last night in Cancun was really low key.  We sat in the lobby, enjoyed some live music, people watching, and glasses of wine. (One thing I won’t miss is the crappy wine!  I’m not a wine snob, but there was no variety and most were awful.)

Jared set his alarm for 7 am so we could eat breakfast and spend a little time strolling on the beach before checking out.

We hung out in the lobby for 45 minutes and had one last drink before heading to the airport.

Our flight was delayed an hour, but eventually we were in the air and on our way home.  My parents met us at the airport with Miles in tow.  It was great to have a ride to our front door.

I’ve done a tiny bit of unpacking and a lot of Bachelor watching.  Jared ordered a pizza for dinner.  Sorry Mom, I’ll cook the chicken tomorrow night.  I grabbed 2 pieces and set them aside for my lunch tomorrow.  Good thinking ahead!

While I didn’t follow my running plan this trip, I’m glad that I exercised 4 times over the course of the vacation.  Something is always better than nothing!  I used the stairmaster, ran on the treadmill, ran outside, and used a Core Fusion pilates DVD.  I don’t feel like I went overboard with food and alcohol, but I cut myself some slack cuz I was on vacation.  I enjoyed all that Cancun had to offer!  :o

That being said, I can’t wait to get back into the groove:  hitting the gym, sauna, eating healthy, and having daily responsibilities.  I’m so excited to really start my Half Marathon training, go back to spin and Body Pump

I’m glad you are back feeling so rested. I am often exhausted after a trip. I certainly helps having a ride from the airport though! Mons and dads are the best!

I wondered who watched Miles. I was going to volunteer and all, but it is a little far. Glad you had a great trip! That pizza looks soooo good!
