It was recently reported that the humidity in Boston was lower than in most deserts. Winter air is incredibly dry and it’s so harsh on my skin. Between cold wind outside and blasting heaters inside, I’m trying to fight my environment on all fronts.

A lot of people battle with their skin. But don’t let your bad habits make things more difficult.
It’s time to STOP…
- Smoking
- Drinking too much alcohol
- Tanning (in the sun and in a tanning bed)
- Skipping sunscreen
- Ignoring moles
- Popping and picking at zits
- Going to bed without washing your face
- Forgetting to take special care around your eyes
- Using dirty makeup brushes
- Over exfoliating
- Using the wrong face products or using too many products at once
- Resting your cell phone against your cheek
*Do you have any bad skincare habits that you want to change?*
I noticed a few of my bad habits mentioned on this list. I need to get myself in check and start taking better care of my skin!

Wow! There are quite a few of those things that I would never have thought of – like the cellphone and dirty makeup brushes one and overexfoliating. I hope to age well so thanks for the reminder of skincare

Love these tips!! I think I touch my face too much – probably doesn’t help!

Tina: I’m hoping to age gracefully too. That’s why I’m trying to start taking good care of my skin while I’m still in my 20s.
Jessica: Touching my face is probably my worst habit! I lean on my hand all day while I’m at work..and have the bad skin to prove it. Ugh, haha.

Great post!! Ive started really trying to take better care of my skin in the past couple of years. I think my worst habit is not using a moisturizer at night. I really should start using one cause my face does dry out easily!

Oh god, I’m so gross. 6, 8, 9, and 10 are all bad habits of mine. I really need to stop picking my face!! Yuck.

I always violate 7 and 9… no bueno. I also think everyone should use a moisturizer with SPF, always! My skin always looks better when I’m sticking to my workout plan too.

I’m guilty of quite a few! I am such a bad zit picker!! I have started washing my face more often and have been using an anti aging moistizer. One of my “resolutions”, and so far I’ve been doing much better!

Really? Boston is less humid? I was thinking that I was REALLY dry this winter. Like my nose was bloody in the morning. Guess I should drink more water!
I think my worst face habit is NOT washing it at night (especially after I wear make up)

I need to buy some new makeup brushes (and make up for that matter) and get some good under eye moisturizer.
Matt just bought a humidifier for our bedroom so I’m hoping that helps my skin not be so dry!
