Melissa suggested dinner at The Fat Cat in Quincy. I’d been browsing the menu online all week and still couldn’t decide what I wanted to order. My friend Cara is visiting (She just ran the Rock and Roll Marathon in Vegas!) so she and I split a salad w/ greens, goat cheese, pecans, and cranberries to start.

We also ordered FRIED PICKLES. Yum! I didn’t grab any of the bread because I was too busy with my salad and the pickles.

Always fun to have dinner with my blog girls! It was great to meet Julie! She needs to remember to sign up to attend FitBloggin! (Melissa and Julie are both avid coffee drinkers so I think they’ll join me when I tour the Boston Common Coffee roasting facilities in January. Fun!)

I ordered a simple pasta/veggie dish. The fettuccine was tossed in a light white wine sauce. I loved it because it was not overwhelming. Can’t wait to dig into my leftovers.

Cara ordered a pulled pork sandwich. It’s buried somewhere under those onion rings.

I can’t even begin to tell you how good this coconut cream pie was! It was like a “flavor bomb detonated in my mouth.” Haha!

When Cara and I got back to my apartment, we debated going to meet Jared and a group of friends at Whiskeys. But it was TOO cold outside and too far of a walk. We had liquid cake. This Layer Cake Malbec had a nice chocolate flavor. Mmm!

Jared made it home, but didn’t make it through Saturday Night Live.

I went out for brunch with Cara and another college buddy, Neal, at Francesca’s Cafe. I had a healthy bowl of granola with fruit and yogurt…then ate the rest of Cara’s roast beef wrap. I love Francesca’s but I wish they weren’t cash only. I never carry cash!
Thank you all for being concerned about the lack of heat in my apartment! Our property manager told us to buy space heaters and deduct the cost from next month’s rent check. So now there are 2 remote controlled heaters around the apartment and it’s actually warm here. We should be ok until Tuesday as long as we don’t blow any more fuses. Trying to find the right way to plug in the heaters was quite a challenge!

I like fried pickles even though it’s so weird to think of it as being tasty! Yummy weekend eats!! If I weren’t so full, I think I’d want all of what you had!:)
