Fun Holiday Movie Quote: “Get the biggest aluminum tree you can find, Charlie Brown, maybe painted pink.” -A Charlie Brown Christmas

I didn’t pack a lunch today so I grabbed a bowl of chicken soup from HealthWorks. Yum-o! Yes, it was THAT delicious. One of my favorite batches of chicken soup ever, probably because my bowl had a lot of carrot slices and reminded me of the soup my grandmother used to make.

I also bought a salad with lots of veggies and sprouts. I thought of Melissa and Julie when I saw the chickpeas on this salad. They’re always mashing chickpeas and making wraps or sandwiches.

There were lots of goodies in the kitchen area at work. I only allowed myself to snack on a small bowl of tortilla chips and salsa. Didn’t want to overdo it because…
I still have leftovers from last week’s Sweet Swap. But now that everything is officially a week old, I’ll toss the uneaten stuff in the trash.
I really wanted to take a spin class and was all set to wait until the 5:30 pm session…until I worked through lunch and left the office at 4:15 pm. I reversed my workout order and sat in the sauna for 10 minutes to warm up and stretch. I jogged on the treadmill for 25 minutes, no intervals today, and then used the foam roller.
Since I skipped out in spinning, I wanted to do something challenging. I considered doing a set of “lunges to side planks” but got distracted when I saw the assisted chinups machine. I did 3 sets of chinups and was exhausted by the time I finished. My back and shoulders may even be sore tomorrow!

I’ve been looking at a package of spinach and feta sausages sitting in the fridge for a while, but didn’t bother to cook them until tonight.

I made a pasta bowl with slices of sausage, broccoli, corn, and feta cheese…all tossed in olive oil. I had some wine in my Big Gulp glass so I could finish the bottle that was opened over the weekend.

I treated myself to a pre-Christmas manicure and pedicure. Dark plum on my fingers and a deep shade of pink on my toes! After my nails were dry and I walked 50 feet home (yeah the nail salon is pretty conveniently located), I grabbed the rest of my Big Gulp wine glass, blasted Glee songs on i-tunes, and started packing for my trip home for the holidays.
I’m hoping to be on the road tomorrow by 3 pm!

I’ve never thought to add corn to pasta. I bet it tastes yummy. Thanks for the shout out! I’m a mashing machine
I usually do my own manicures, but I’ve been dying to get a professional one. Maybe Santa will bring me a gift certificate
I watched the “Mattress” episode of Glee last night. I love that show. Safe travels home!

Holla! Thanks for the shut out
That pasta looks delish, I really need to make more pasta but I’m too impatient to wait for the water to boil.
I love pedi’s! They are so relaxing. Mani’s on the other hand are painful to me
