Fun Holiday Movie Quote: ‘The nerve of those Whos. Inviting me down there – on such short notice! Even if I wanted to go my schedule wouldn’t allow it. 4:00, wallow in self pity; 4:30, stare into the abyss; 5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one; 5:30, jazzercize; 6:30, dinner with me – I can’t cancel that again; 7:00, wrestle with my self-loathing… I’m booked. Of course, if I bump the loathing to 9, I could still be done in time to lay in bed, stare at the ceiling and slip slowly into madness. But what would I wear?’ -How the Grinch Stole Christmas

I wore the same tooth pick cords and boots that I wore the other day. But here’s why this outfit works better: The grandpa cardigan hits a few inches below my hip, rather than at my hip like the green shirt did. Also, the cardigan creates a more sleek and streamlined appearance while the green top was cut shorter and wider, and that made my hip area appear larger.

My department holiday party started at noon. I was happy to contribute cookies to the potluck meal. I think people filled up on entrees so I brought most of these home with me. Ok, maybe that was a little Grinchy to leave the party early with my dessert, but I had a feeling they’d end up being thrown away if I didn’t take them home.

Here’s my plate of good eats made by my fellow BC staff members. Wow, there are some good cooks among us!
I left the party around 2 pm and spent the afternoon relaxing. My power nap turned into a 2 1/2 hour coma. I don’t know why I need so much sleep. But I woke up feeling refreshed and was able to accomplish a lot around the apartment.

Finally got a meat thermometer for the pork tenderloin that’s been in the freezer for a few weeks. Jared was in charge of cooking it and I guess he decided to butterfly it and top it with random spices.

I had a salad with spinach, green peppers, and carrots, couscous, and the delicious pork.
Great selection of holiday TV tonight starting with Prep and Landing that’s been on my DVR for a while. I also loved the SNL Christmas special. Mmm hmm, and now I need more beauty sleep! Tomorrow is going to be a treadmill day!

I miss that part of work. At the hospital we always made food for the wole month and there was always something going on. Plus departmental dinners out. Living in Vegas had many possibilities for parties.
