Gingerbread Houses

When we finally got to my parents’ house just before 4, I was starving so I wolfed down a ham sandwich with cheese, lettuce, and honey mustard.  Then it was time for Jenna and I to start working on our gingerbread houses.

We each started with the contents of a pre-assembled gingerbread house kit.

I turned mine into this masterpiece, with a slightly crooked front door.

I added lots of marshmallow snow, and a marshmallow chimney too!

And a wreath to be festive.

We always find a way to make new and interesting houses each year.  This time we used syringes filled with icing to draw on our houses.  It made creating windows and doors SO much easier.  I played around with my mom’s Cannon Rebel.  As soon as she uploads the pictures, I can share photo’s of Jenna’s lovely gingerbread house!

Natasha was annoyed that the normally quiet house was filled with lots of yelling.  And also that Miles kept following her to sniff and bite!

My dad was in charge of making dinner.  He went all out.  He started off with a platter of cheese and Triscuits.

Dinner was chicken, lots of veggies (I chose potatoes, carrots, squash, and zucchini), salad, and fresh rolls.  He paired our meal with a bottle of Pinot Grigio.  It was a tasty wine, and I’m glad I got to bring the rest of the bottle back to Boston.

My dad checked my tire pressure and added some air before it was time to head back to Boston.  Thanks Dad!!!  I had a bunch of things to take care of when I finally got home:  facial, cleaning, and more Christmas decorating!

Miles isn’t the only one who’s exhausted.  I’m ready to head to bed!

I’m impressed with your gingerbread-making skills! Very pretty! I am also impressed with your dad’s dinner. The dad’s in my family don’t do a lot of cooking.

Aw making gingerbread houses reminds me of elementary school! We used to make them with the milk cartons as a structure back in the day. Yours looks much better ;)
