Food Should Taste Good

DSC04695

I made the most amazing sandwich!  An Arnold Thin with ground turkey (yup, leftover from last night’s tacos), cucumbers, cheese, and sprouts.  As soon as I took the last bite, I wished I had made a 2nd one.  I also tried my first bag of chips from Food Should Taste Good.  Thank you to their co-op Emily for shipping the samples to me.  (Go Huskies!)

I started with the Potato and Chive flavor because it was the one I was least excited about.  Get it eaten and over with?  Haha.  I was actually pretty impressed with the flavor of these chips.  They really did taste like potatoes.  The unique flavor was one that I could appreciate without over eating.  Plus it seemed to go well with my sandwich.  Important to note that these bad boys are gluten free.  I always think of Shannon when I find foods without gluten.

I had a cranberry VitaMuffin for a snack.  Look at all of those berries!

I went to the gym at 1pm, ready to work.  I decided to hit the treadmill for some interval running.  I walked for 2 minutes, ran for 2 minutes, walked for 1 minute, ran for 2 minutes, walked for 1 minute, and then ran for 2 minutes.  I repeated this pattern a second time and then walked for 5 minutes to cool down.  Wow, what a great workout!  Each time I ran, I made sure I picked a speed that out me under a 9 minute mile.  Then I walked at 4 mph to recover.

Changing the speed so often kept me distracted.  Plus I was never totally exhausted so I was able to finish strong.  I’m going to plan out another interval workout and do this again!  I used the foam roller and sat in the sauna for 10 minutes before heading back to work.

I snacked on 2 Clementines.  Yay for Vitamin C!

Then I snacked on a Mojo Dipped fruit and nut bar.  Really sweet plus a vanilla yogurty coating = perfection.

I used more of the taco leftovers to make a taco salad.  Same ingredients as last night, but a much bigger serving size.

I had to run an errand and knew the salad wouldn’t be enough to keep me full for the entire evening.  Especially since I had to power walk around Back Bay.

I had a small bowl of Annie’s macaroni and cheese.  Since I got rained on while running the errand, I just wanted some warm comfort food.

My evening is being dedicated to the Glee fall finale.  I look forward to an hour of music every Wednesday night so I’m going to miss this while it’s off the air.  At least I have a few other shows that I really enjoy, and Lost will begin it’s final season in 2 months.  I may also do my Whittle My Middle workout.  I began the challenge a week late and I’ve been slacking.

That mac and cheese looks so yummy. I pretty much can’t make a box of that unless the boyfriend wants to eat half – otherwise I’m too tempted to eat all of it…
Your interval work out sounds great. I did intervals with a slow jog in between, but I bet my fast intervals could be faster if I walked instead. I’ll put it on my list.

Those chiops are gluten free? Yeah! I’m not a huge chip fan, but I’ve heard so many good things, I’ll have to check them out!

My husband and I are counting days until LOST comes back! I didn’t start watching Glee, but maybe I need to track it down on line.

Great interval workout! Intervals are they only thing that keep me on the treadmill.

I think of Shannon whenever I see gluten free too! I always make a mental note to tell her about the product.

I missed Glee. I’m two episodes behind. If my boss leaves, I’m going to watch them online today ;)
