While visions of sugarplums blog posts danced in my head
It was extremely tough to fall asleep last night. My mind was racing with thoughts about this blog, things I have to do now that I changed my URL, glitches to fix, and other projects to tackle. It’s a lot of work! Good thing Crunches for Cupcakes is something I really enjoy!

I made a bowl of Quaker instant oatmeal for breakfast. I added blueberry flax seed and 1/2 of a banana. Up until now, I’ve been opposed to mixing things into my oatmeal. I’m beginning to change my opinion. The added flavors and textures make for a much more interesting and filling breakfast!

I took a travel mug of Boston Common Coffee to work. As soon as I got to the office, I spilled on my leg. I’m pretty sure the spots came out, but for now, today’s outfit features a big wet spot on my leg. I brought a 2nd pair of shoes with me. I need to break them in so I’m going to wear them while I’m sitting at my desk. That way I can stretch the leather without getting blisters from walking around. So crafty!

That’s such a good idea!
And I made oatmeal for the first time today!! I don’t know if it would taste good without the banana and cinnamon I added while it was cooking. Wouldn’t it be a little bland without anything?

Haha, plain oatmeal would be really bland! I was opposed to toppings because I’ve always used packets of various flavors of instant oatmeal. I thought my oats didn’t need more than what they came with.
Slowly changing my ways!

My mother never let my sister and I have anything other than plain oatmeal with bananas mixed in when we were younger. The sugar content was too high in instant oatmeals. I can’t imagine anything else. I love adding nut butters to it now though.
Love the new blog layout!

Melissa: Didn’t even think about the amount of sugar in the instant packets. One of my short term goals is to wake up at 7:15 at least 3 mornings per week. Once I can accomplish this, I’ll ditch the instant oatmeal and start making healthy stovetop oats!
